About Amanda Lillywhite

A view of London from my house.
My dog, Len, checking Facebook.
I was born in England, spent my toddler years in Singapore and emigrated with my family to Australia when I was seven. I came back to England in my late twenties and now live in south London with my partner, our daughter and our dog. Scroll down to the end of this post see an hourly comic about a day in my life.

I started my creative career as a graphic designer working (at different times) on magazines and in various design agencies and multimedia studios. I became self employed so as to focus on my illustration work.

My illustrations have appeared in children's non-fiction / educational books (Folens, Heinemann and Stanley Thornes), in newspapers (Times Education Supplement) and in magazines (Nursery World and Learning Support). I have also created illustrations for children that appeared in leaflets, brochures, colouring books, posters, stickers, cards and much more for clients such as Fortnum & Mason, Tumble Tots, various UK councils, Early Learning Centre, the Royal College of Anaesthetists and others.

I also work on my own projects. I write and draw comics and am working on ideas for picture books and graphic novels for children. When I am not doing any of that I like to fix old things, make new things, read, sew and ramble around London.

I am a member of SCBWI British Isles. To celebrate the relaunch of their newsletter I created a webcomic about a YA writer and picture book author/illustrator: Duck&Bear.

I am available for commissions please send me a message or a tweet to start the discussion about your project.
